The British Embassy Guatemala is currently looking for a Communications Intern in the Public Diplomacy  [JB emphasis] office.

Current intern opportunity

The communications intern will work with the Political Section at the British Embassy in Guatemala City to help deliver the embassy’s 2019-20 communications strategy, including; generating more media and brand awareness of the UK’s work in Guatemala and Honduras. You will assist staff to effectively communicate and amplify the work of the embassy. Tasks will involve writing press releases, online research, event planning, social media outreach, and the occasional administrative duties.

We welcome applications from those who can demonstrate previous experience of communications work, although professional work experience is not required. Applicants should have excellent writing and communications skills in both English and Spanish, and be an independent, motivated worker. A working knowledge of social media tools, photography, video editing, and design programmes would be beneficial.

This part-time internship requires you to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Hours are flexible, but you must be available to attend key meetings. The main aspects of this position are:
Internship duration: 6 months
