VOA Series Wins First Place in National Headliner Awards

Voice of America's year-long series on the topic “Between Trade Agreements and Tariffs: The American Farmer,” has won first place in the 85th annual National Headliner Awards in the category "TV Business/Consumer Reporting."  The series written, produced and edited by VOA’s Midwest correspondent, Kane Farabaugh, detail the impact of trade disputes and tariffs on the U.S. agricultural industry, and U.S. farmers in particular. “I’m thrilled that this in-depth reporting has been honored with a prestigious award,” said VOA Director Amanda Bennett. “Telling America’s story from all sides is a critical part of our mission.” Founded in 1934 by the Press Club of Atlantic City, the National Headliner Awards program is one of the oldest and largest annual contests recognizing journalistic excellence. The first National Headliner Awards were presented in 1935.
