On March 9, Mel Levine, Chair of the CPD [USC Center for Public Diplomacy] Advisory Board announced the appointment of Ambassador Rockwell A. Schnabel, Founder and Chairman of The Sage Group and Dr. Jerrold D. Green, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Pacific Council on International Policy to the CPD Advisory Board.
“Ambassador Rockwell (“Rock”) Schnabel brings a unique combination of public and private sector expertise and leadership to CPD.  His exemplary tenure as U.S. Ambassador to the European Union and Finland and as Acting Secretary of Commerce under George H. Bush plus his leadership in several highly successful investment firms will prove invaluable as we continue to chart CPD’s ambitious course in bridging the academic-practitioner communities,” said Levine.
"Jerry Green will bring a wealth of personal experience, judgment and relationships to CPD. He is widely respected by diplomats and other leaders in the U.S. and abroad and his visionary stewardship of the Pacific Council on International Policy here in Los Angeles makes him a terrific resource for the Center," continued Levine.
“We are very proud that Ambassador Schnabel and Dr. Green are joining our distinguished Advisory Board. CPD is at a pivotal moment as we make significant strides to grow the field of public diplomacy and the visibility of the Center,” said CPD’s Director, Jay Wang. "With the benefit of their substantial experience in global affairs, business and academia and strategic guidance, CPD looks forward to an even more productive and effective future."’
The CPD Advisory Board, comprised of prominent figures in fields related to public diplomacy, is responsible for guiding and supporting the development of the Center as an international resource.
