Deputy Minister Jan Dziedziczak: we expect Trump to implement his commitment to abolish visas for Poles, PAP dispatch from March 8, 2017

“We hope that the declaration of support to abolish visas for Poland voiced by Donald Trump during the election campaign will be put into action,” the deputy head of the MFA Jan Dziedziczak said on Wednesday.
The Deputy Minister responsible for issues relating to the Polish community, consular matters and public diplomacy addressed the parliament’s EU Affairs Committee and presented the government’s position on the European Commission communiqué on the action taken in connection with the lack of "reciprocity with certain third countries with regard to visa policy."
He said that the communiqué shows that whilst the Commission’s discussions with Canada "led to the adoption of a timetable for the abolition of visas for citizens of Romania and Bulgaria, with the target date for full liberalization set for 1 December 2017,” talks with the United States are deadlocked and "no progress" on the abolition of visas has been reported. ...
