JOB OPENING: PROGRAM MANAGER, COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING

POSITION OVERVIEW:


The Program Manager (PM), for Communications & Marketing is a critical member of the Communications Team at Global Ties and serves as project manager for communications, marketing, and design projects.  As such, and in collaboration with the Program Associate (PA), the PM is responsible for the daily management and oversight of Global Ties’ planning, organization, delivery, monitoring, and tracking of communications and marketing initiatives.  The Program Manager supervises the Program Associate and Communications Intern positions.

Reports to: Director, External Affairs
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary: Starting with compensation commensurate with experience at $60,000 per annum, plus benefits (medical/prescription, vision, dental coverage, life insurance, as well as short- and long-term disability coverage).

JOB OPENING: PROGRAM ASSOCIATE, ONLINE LEARNING

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Program Associate, Online Learning is primarily responsible for providing technical, programmatic and administrative support for Global Ties U.S. web-based training for both exchange program implementing partners and exchange program participants. The position will provide this support primarily in two areas – learning management system (LMS) administration and editorial and design support in content development. In doing so, the Program Associate will be an integral part of our online educational initiatives, working closely with the team responsible for developing and executing an array of international exchange related activities in support of the U.S. government’s efforts. The Program Associate’s work will primarily support virtual participation in the Police Professionalization Exchange Program with Mexico, as well training activities for implementing partners of the International Visitor Leadership Program.

The position requires a professional with a combination of interpersonal, customer service, programmatic and administrative skills, as well as a person that is highly energetic, detail oriented - with the ability to handle multiple projects, priorities, and personalities at a time. It also requires the ability to use databases and spreadsheets for tracking information. The Program Associate may also assist with overseeing the daily activities of an intern or graduate fellow.

JOB OPENING: EXCHANGE PROGRAMS FELLOWSHIP

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Global Ties U.S., in partnership with eight of our community-based member organizations, has received funding from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) to launch a new, three-year U.S.-Mexico Police Professionalization Exchange Program. Serving 100 participants each year, this new program includes online training modules, exposure to curriculum at police academies in the U.S., study tours, synthesis workshops in Washington, and follow-on training in Mexico conducted by U.S. experts.

GLOBAL TIES U.S. IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THREE 2017 FALL INTERNSHIPS


Our volunteer intern positions are for rising undergraduate juniors through graduate level students. Successful applicants are invited to work with Global Ties U.S. for one academic semester (Spring, Summer, or Fall), and will be expected to take on a significant role with the organization. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the positions are filled. We appreciate the high level of interest in these positions. Due to the volume of applications, only finalists will be contacted to interview. Global Ties U.S. provides supplemental learning opportunities to the undergraduate and graduate students’ educational and professional careers. The internships and fellowships provide interns with skills that can be can be used in multiple employment settings. Interns will be overseen by the Program Manager for Procurement & Programming. Please note: Global Ties U.S. cannot help non-U.S. citizens obtain visas. 

Internships are unpaid, volunteer positions, and interns must be current students. Upon the successful completion of a semester, we provide unpaid volunteer interns with a stipend to help defray internship-related expenses, e.g. transportation costs to and from the Global Ties U.S. office. We will also work with students to arrange academic credit and meet other program requirements.
