BBG Watch passes 10 million hits mark as crisis deepens at Voice of America

Our watch dog website, BBGWatch.com, has passed the 10 million hits mark yesterday since it was first started in September 2008 by former and current Voice of America (VOA) and other Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) journalists and media experts.
Much of the most recent rapid growth in our website’s traffic can be attributed to the deepening crisis at the Voice of America due to the VOA’s management’s decision to shorten a live interview with Chinese businessman turned whistleblower Guo Wengui, followed by senior VOA and BBG leaders’ decision to place on administrative leave five VOA Mandarin Service journalists who tried to deliver a full live interview on April 19, 2017.
BBG Watch commentary, “Voice of America China Guo Wengui Part I – Asleep at the Wheel,” has been the most read BBG Watch article. After Mr. Guo tweeted about our commentary, it received over 9,000 views in just one day.
BBG Watch has been cited by The Washington Post, The Washington Times, The New York Times, Fox News, NPR, NBC News and many other media organizations. One of our articles was placed in The Congressional Record. We were the first to highlight business activities of some of the BBG officials in Russia and in communist China and to report on multiple violations of the VOA Charter in Voice of America programs.
We continue to report on the plight of the VOA Mandarin Five and other employee morale problems at the Voice of America, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) and within the entire Broadcasting Board of Governors agency.
We thank you for your readership and strong support. Please continue to send in your suggestions and let us know how we can improve our website.
