Future of urbanism with the challenge posed by climate change highlighted at exhibition

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 16: ‘Post-Oil City: The History of the City’s Future’ in exploring three narratives of metropolis, modern housing, and modern transit, seeks to address pressing issues of the future of urbanism with the challenge posed by climate change.

The exhibition by Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen or Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (IFA) and curated by ARCH+, is being hosted by Dar Al Athar Al Islamiyyah at the Amricani [sic] Cultural Centre in cooperation with the German Embassy of Kuwait. The exhibition opening was held under the patronage of Ali Al Youha, Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters on Sunday evening and included presentations and a roundtable discussion. ...

German Ambassador to Kuwait Karlfried Bergner shared that this was first large exhibition in the past ten years brought in by the Embassy and the first held in collaboration with IFA. He acknowledged and thanked all those who had made the exhibition a reality and deemed it a good example of public diplomacy. He noted that the exhibition will persuade viewers to think about the future of our cities and how can we influence it in the right direction. ...
