MIP will adopt a strategy of public diplomacy of the Crimean Tatars, if it did not approve the Cabinet

Approval of draft strategy of public diplomacy of the Crimean Tatars in the framework of the government was delayed, and the Ministry of information policy of Ukraine do not exclude the adoption of the strategy as an internal document of the Ministry. This was stated by first Deputy Minister of information policy Emine dzhaparova on a press-conferences, transfers “Interfax-Ukraine”.

“We expect that the strategy of public diplomacy will be adopted in the framework of the Cabinet. Unfortunately, the stage of coordination of different ministries, this document is a little longer than we expected. We are now in negotiations with the foreign Ministry to ensure that in fact this strategy was adopted. All other ministries and agencies are ready to adopt the draft strategy as a document of the Cabinet, only with the foreign Ministry we are in negotiations. If approval is not (this too can be), we will adopt this document as an internal document of the Ministry of information policy”, – said Dzhaparov.


According to her, adoption of this strategy formalises the work of the Ministry, which it already does as part of the information of de-occupation of the Crimea and protection of the rights of the Crimean Tatars.

Dzhaparova also noted that the Ministry of information policy will involve the newly released Deputy Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov and Akhtem chigusa to advocate the rights of Crimean Tatars in the international arena.

Recall, October 25, representatives of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people of Akhtem chigusa, and Ilmi Umerov, illegally convicted by the courts in occupied Crimea, gave Turkey. Prior to this, on 11 September, the so-called “court” in the annexed Crimea Chiygoza was sentenced to 8 years in a strict regime colony. On September 27, Simferopol district, “the court” handed down a verdict in the case Umerov and has appointed to it punishment in the form of two years of a colony-settlements. The release was made possible by the help of Turkish President Erdogan.
