The Embassy of Denmark in Seoul seeks one Student Assistant for the Press and Public Diplomacy Section

The Embassy of Denmark is offering an interesting student assistant opportunity in the Press and Public Diplomacy Section. As a student assistant at the Embassy you will gain international working experience in a dynamic environment consisting of highly motivated Danish and Korean staff.

Focus and Responsibilities

The student assistant in the Press and Public Diplomacy Section will join the Embassy’s team of dedicated staff and will be assisting the Embassy in planning and executing various public diplomacy initiatives as well as cultural activities, engaging the general public via online and offline communication channels, and providing background research for the Embassy’s media analyses. 

The student assistant will assist the press and public diplomacy team and the cultural staff at the Embassy, thus having great opportunities to develop new ideas for communicative initiatives and cultural events. Specifically, the student assistant will gain an in-depth understanding of handling public and media requests, managing the embassy’s social media platforms, represent Danish interests in Korea, and the Embassy’s overall efforts to further bilateral relations between Denmark and Korea.

Requirements 

Applicants for the position must have a relevant educational background (communication / international relations / etc.) and it is an advantage to have a broad interest in international relations, administration, commerce, and culture. The student assistant should be service-oriented, outgoing, have a high work ethic, be open minded, capable of working independently, and thinking innovatively. Furthermore, curiosity about Denmark and Danish culture is an advantage.

Fluency in both oral and written Korean and English is required.

Working Conditions 

The Embassy of Denmark is looking to employ one full-time student assistant in the Press and Public Diplomacy Section for the duration of 6 months.
 Duration: 1 February 2016 - 31 July 2016  Working hours: 09:30AM - 17:00PM (total 37.5 hours per week)  Compensation: 800,000 KRW monthly  Holidays: Up to 2 days of holiday per month (total 12 days)
