From Wikipedia:
During World War II, Brynner worked as a French-speaking radio announcer and commentator for the US Office of War Information, broadcasting propaganda to occupied France.[14]Note: OWI (1942-1945) was a "predecessor" of the United States Information Agency (1953-1999), which handled "public diplomacy" during the Cold War.
