The Information Policy Ministry of Ukraine will hold a nationwide campaign to mark the international Indigenous Peoples’ Day on August 9.
First Deputy Information Policy Minister of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova said this at a press conference at the Ukrinform news agency, an agency correspondent reports.
"I want to invite everyone at the America House where we will hold the Qirim aksami (Crimean evening) event at 7 pm tomorrow, August 9. We will open the exhibition dedicated to the Crimean Tatars," Dzhaparova said.
As the First Deputy Minister noted, the Crimean evening is a cultural event within the framework of the project of public diplomacy of the Crimean Tatars, implemented by the Information Policy Ministry of Ukraine. The guests of the event will watch the concert of the Crimean Tatar songs and dances and the exhibition on ethnogenesis, history and culture of the Crimean Tatar people (in English), which was prepared by the Estonian Institute for Human Rights, the Information Policy Ministry of Ukraine and the Crimean Tatar Resource Center with the support of the Foreign Ministry of Estonia.
The international Indigenous Peoples’ Day is marked annually on August 9 since 1995.
