Funefeai Dikaiosune Atoa Tamaali’i, daughter of Pualele Atoa Tamaalii and the Late Rev. Sione Uesile Tamaalii, is the new Principal Communications Officer for M.P.M.C.

Raised in Tuaefu and educated at St. Mary’s Primary School and College, she went on to pursue a scholarship opportunity in Fiji which she could not complete due to personal reasons; however, this did stop her from pursuing the values that her parents instilled in her, which were faith, perseverance and strong work ethics.

These invaluable three core values led her to a few work opportunities that helped her realize her potential and love for writing.

From being an accountant, unplanned turns in life led her to television and radio broadcasting which re-ignited her love for writing.

With those four years in the media industry, she made her way to be the Public Diplomacy and Cultural coordinator at the U.S. Embassy office here in Apia for three years.

This according to Funefeai was the highlight of her career.

As a young single mother of two, the U.S. Embassy helped her grow personally and professionally, now against all odds, she finds herself at the Ministry of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, doing what she loves to do with a whole new team that she is excited to work with.

Things are looking bright for Dikaiosune (which means the Rightness of God in Biblical Greek) as she looks forward to serving her beloved country of Samoa doing bigger and better things through her love of writing.

“My initial setbacks were indications of major comebacks. I may not have successfully achieved all I wanted in life, but I have all that I need to succeed in this lifetime, and to show my daughters that even though against all odds, with God, anything and everything is possible (Phil. 4:13).”
