Doha, March 06 (QNA) - The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) signed a memorandum of cooperation with Global Public Diplomacy Network (GPDN) [JB emphasisto enhance the cultural exchange between Katara and the network, at the conference hall in Katara.

General Manager of Katara, Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti and President of the Yunus Emre Institute Dr. Sheref Atesh, President of GPDN signed the memorandum, which aimed at joint cooperation in all areas of public diplomacy to promote the cultural identity of both countries, as well as to develop the concept of cultural exchange between Qatar and Turkey through joint projects known as the authenticity of the cultures, and provide them with the best image, especially since the network has 13 member states.

The memorandum also provides broad prospects for strengthening relations between nations and peoples, and emphasizes the role that culture plays in the rapprochement between peoples and societies, promoting peace across the world, as well as providing common ground for overcoming disputes and resolving conflicts.

GPDN was founded in 2014 in Seoul as a platform that contributes to international community through cultural and civil society initiatives in ten countries (Philippines, Hungary, Sweden, South Korea, Taiwan, Nigeria, Poland, Portugal, Singapore and Turkey) by sharing knowledge and encouraging cooperation. The GPDN is comprised of non-profit national level institutions promoting cultural and public diplomacy.

Qatar was granted the full membership of GPDN last October through the partnership of Katara, in a conference titled "The Role of Culture in bringing Polarized and Conflicting Societies together through Public Diplomacy." (QNA)
