Traineeships in Delegations
Are you a student interested in international relations? 
Are you curious to learn more about work in a diplomatic mission and
 how an EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in the Pacific?
What do we offer?
A traineeship of 6 months within the Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation for the Pacific.
Main tasks:
  • Draft press releases
  • Assist in organising media activities such as press conference, interviews and press briefings.
  • Assist in administrative and organisational aspect of the Delegation's public diplomacy [JB emphasis] activities such as Europe Day, EU-Fiji Quiz, Film Festival, etc
  • Coordinate with EU Member States embassies to organise joint public diplomacy activities
  • Assist in reviewing development partners communication plans or strategies and joint press releases
  • Assist is managing the Delegation website
  • Draft social media content
  • Capture photos & videos of EU or EU-funded events
  • Gather and monitor daily incoming information in the press for the daily Pacific News Flash
  • Upload the daily Pacific News Flash on the EU's Together platform
  • Provide back-office support for the Section's staff (answering requests, taking notes and preparing meetings, etc.)
  • Take part in seminars and events & report back
  • Any other request from the Head of Section and the Head of Delegation

Before applying you are requested to examine the general eligibility criteria for a compulsory traineeships (Article 9 of the Decision ADMIN (2017)28 -
Unpaid compulsory traineeships for students already residing and studying in the host country)
All costs related to travel inside the country of residence, insurance, accommodation and living expenses must be borne by either the trainee or the University.
Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.
