GDS Academy masterclass:

Reputational security and other new priorities: rethinking public diplomacy for a digital age

Nick Cull, Professor of Public Diplomacy [JB emphasis] at the University of Southern California, USA, presents the conclusion to his new book which identifies 4 priorities for public diplomacy in the present age of digital technology and global uncertainty. Reputational security will be presented as a repositioning of soft power and nation brand. A better reputation is not a luxury for the richest countries but can be an essential component of security in an era of geopolitical instability.

Nick Cull is the author of work on the subject of propaganda and public diplomacy, including the new overview text: Public Diplomacy: Foundations for Global Engagement in the Digital Age (Polity, 2019). He is also a regular guest lecturer at diplomatic academies around the world.
