In this new video from USC Annenberg, the Assistant Secretary of African Affairs Linda Thomas-Greenfield offers a personal take on the meaning of the Peace Corps' work, the importance of diversity as an American core value, and how upcoming African elections could reduce violent extremism globally. Thomas-Greenfield discusses the powers of service and of education, particularly President Obama's Young African Leaders' Initiative, "where we are investing in the next generation of promising and enthusiastic African leaders."
The Assistant Secretary came to USC to speak to the Association of Public Diplomacy Scholars on November 20, 2015. To watch the entire video, click here.
