Beijing hosted the 2016 Yangzhou Silk Road Cuisine Exhibition press conference on Wednesday.
Organized by the China Public Diplomacy Association and the Yangzhou government, the event will be held from September 23rd to 26th in east China's Jiangsu Province.
In keeping with the "One Belt and One Road" initiative, which ties together 65 countries across Asia and Europe, the annual event aims to promote food culture exchanges and cooperation between Yangzhou and other cities and countries along the Silk Road.
Yangzhou cuisine is the unique culture card of the city. In speaking of Yangzhou cuisine, people often mention "Yangzhou Fried Rice", famous in Chinese restaurants all over the world. Yangzhou is also the birth place of Huaiyang Cuisine, which is one of the four major Chinese cuisines.
