Duties

  • You will serve as a Strategic Communication Specialist at Headquarters United States African Command, Outreach Directorate, Partnership Division.
  • The incumbent of this position will advise on and develop communication strategies associated with U.S. Africa Command exercises, operations, and engagements on the African continent.
  • The strategies are directed at achieving perception effects among African audiences and stakeholders regarding Command missions.
  • The Specialist assists in developing strategic communication objectives, themes, products and strategies for disseminating them to audiences in Africa, CONUS, and within the U.S. Government.
  • Is familiar with the African socio-cultural landscape and integrate regional audience considerations into planning efforts.
  • Coordinates with other SC stakeholders across the Command, the Department of State, the Intelligence Community, and U.S. Embassies in Africa.
  • Functions as a liaison with senior-level individuals and organizations and is responsible for overseeing the Strategic Communication familiarization training.
