DESCRIPTION
Position: Team Leader for EU Public Diplomacy Outreach
Team Leader shall facilitate and coordinate implementation of the multi-country project aimed to support the achievement of EU Foreign Policy objectives by strengthening the EU's ability to engage meaningfully with different audiences and stakeholders in third countries through Public Diplomacy. In particular:
- To support further development of Public Diplomacy policies, activities, methodologies, tools and training programmes
- To assist policy dialogues and to advise on Public Diplomacy
- To strengthen communities/networks of Public Diplomacy
Location of assignment: Brussels, Belgium
Qualifications and skills
- Advanced university degree or equivalent in a related discipline such as public relations, public diplomacy, communication, international relations
- Experience in the field of European affairs or international affairs or politics
- Knowledge and understanding of Project Cycle Management and Logical Framework approach
- Excellent diplomatic and interpersonal skills, service-oriented work style
- Ability to dialogue with national authorities, regional and international institutional structures
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (proficiency in other languages will be an asset).
- Excellent reporting and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently, meet strict deadlines and multi-task
- Ability to control quality of communication products development (videos, infographics, press releases, informational campaigns)
General professional experience
- Minimum 10 years of post-graduate professional (including in the field) experience among the following areas: public diplomacy, cultural diplomacy, outreach/advocacy, public relations, communication and/or media
- Minimum 5 years of post-graduate professional experience in the management of international teams of experts, including preparation of ToRs for expert missions and activities.
Specific professional experience
- Minimum 5 years of post-graduate professional experience in working at international level in the field of Public Diplomacy in external relations;
- Minimum 2 years of post-graduate professional experience in working with EU Member States', third countries' and/or international organisations' Public Diplomacy strategies, methodologies and tools;
- Minimum 1 year of post-graduate professional experience in working with other public diplomacy environment worldwide and with networks of think-tanks, academia, research institutes and other relevant organisations is an asset;
- Previous participation in EU-funded technical assistance projects of similar size and/or contractual value
