Job Description Summary:
The Institute for Public Diplomacy [JB emphasis] and Global Communication (IPDGC) is a leading organization in the field of public diplomacy and global communication. Based at The George Washington University's School of Media and Public Affairs and jointly administered out of the Elliott School of International Affairs, the Institute provides a forum for faculty, students, and working professionals on global issues in the following areas:
• Interactions between new media, national security, and public diplomacy [JB emphasis]
• Global perspectives and approaches to public diplomacy

The IPDGC is seeking a part-time Program Coordinator reporting to the Director of the IPDGC. The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to and on behalf of IPDGC. This role will serve as a point of contact for the program. This role will serve as a point of contact for IPDGC, will answer typical program questions, and will assist the program staff with a variety of functional and administrative support including: answering routine and complex inquiries, enrollment assistant, updating websites and list-serves, planning and executing events, scheduling rooms, ordering equipment, processing payments, data entry, preparing reports and similar duties. This position will be tasked with outreach to other GW stakeholders in order to assist in maintaining standard operational efficiencies.
Responsibilities Include:
• Responsible for executing and coordinating all departmental events for IPGDC, working with colleagues to develop a strategic and comprehensive calendar of events on an annual basis. Manages event logistics, including securing space, scheduling speakers and presenters, tracking registrations, and coordinating with venues and technicians.
• Manages enrollment for IPDG programs including marketing to prospective students and current students at GW to ensure sufficient enrollment and guiding students through the enrollment process. This position will engage with students, faculty, staff, alumni and external constituents.
• Creates assessment tool to track program success and recommend improvements for future programs.
• Coordinate all short-term international and domestic residency programs for IPDGC students. Manages all logistics for visiting fellows including lodging, travel, classroom space, scheduling, etc. Works with faculty director to create and implement itinerary for residencies.
• Performs other work related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
