U.S. Diplomacy Center "Faces of Diplomacy" Exhibit Featured During FotoWeek DC [found on the Web]

The Department of State is pleased to host the U.S. Diplomacy Center exhibit “Faces of Diplomacy” as part of FotoWeek DC. The exhibit will be displayed in the Department’s Exhibit Hall and will be open to registered guests from November 10-14 at 2:30 p.m. via a daily guided tour. On November 10, the tour will also include a special presentation on the making of the exhibit. Anyone interested in registering should e-mail usdc@state.gov. The exhibit will be closed for Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11.

“Faces of Diplomacy” features portraits and video of ten Foreign and Civil Service officers whose stories illustrate the range of skills and functions required in the conduct of American diplomacy. The exhibit is a collaborative project between the Department of State and students from The George Washington University’s Corcoran School of the Arts and Design. It was made possible through a grant from Wallis Annenberg and the Annenberg Foundation to the Diplomacy Center Foundation (DCF). The U.S. Diplomacy Center will serve as the permanent home for the “Faces of Diplomacy” exhibit upon the Center’s opening.

The U.S. Diplomacy Center (http://diplomacy.state.gov), a state-of-the-art museum and education center currently under construction, will ultimately dedicate 40,000 square feet to bringing the story of American diplomacy to life. It will be located at the 21^st Street entrance of the Department of State’s headquarters in the historic Harry S Truman Building.
