President Andrzej Duda accepted credentials from Georgette Mosbacher, the new U.S. ambassador to Poland, on Thursday.
Georgette Mosbacher, an American business executive and entrepreneur, has been President of Georgette Mosbacher Enterprises, Inc., a business and marketing consulting company, since 1992. She also served as CEO of Borghese Inc., a cosmetics manufacturer based in New York City, from 2001 to 2015. In 2016, President Barack Obama appointed her to the U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy [JB emphasis].
Active in politics, Ms. Mosbacher, previously served as a co-chair of the Republican National Committee’s Finance Committee, and was the first woman to serve as the General Chairman of the Republican Governors Association.
The new U.S. ambassador is a member of the influential think tank Atlantic Council and the Foreign Policy Association.
An active philanthropist, Ms. Mosbacher, in 1995, founded the New York Center for Children, which assists abused children and their families, and has served on the boards of numerous charities supporting veterans and their families.
Ms. Mosbacher has been in Poland since the end of August.
The candidacy of Georgette Mosbacher was approved by the U.S. Senate at the beginning of July.
