Egyptian singer-songwriter, composer and accordionist Youssra El Hawary will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the University of Richmond’s Modlin Center for the Arts. Following the release of her first music video, “El Soor” (The Wall), a sly commentary about the political situation in Egypt, El Hawary has become an outspoken voice for change. Her tour is part of Center Stage, a public diplomacy [JB emphasis] initiative of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Tickets are $14 to $28.
