Korea Has Taken Another Step In Strengthening Their Bilateral Relationship Through A Photo Exhibition

Korea has taken another step in strengthening their bilateral relationship with PNG [Papua New Guinea] through a photo exhibition.

This photo exhibition was hosted by the Vision City Mega mall in Port Moresby.

Republic of Korea Ambassador to PNG Kwak Bum-soo stated that both countries have diverse cultures that need to be marketed.

The Embassy displayed 30 photographs of Korean tourism, culture, and tradition and it will last from 25th of August to the 03rd of September in front of the Korean Garden Restaurant at Vision City.

Ambassador Bum-soo said the exhibition is designed to link the geographical distance between Papua New Guinea and the Republic of Korea (South Korea).

He said the embassy has been working tirelessly to market South Korea to PNG and one way is through these photo exhibitions.

He said this photo exhibition at Vision City will be the third following one held at the Caritas Catholic technical secondary school and University of Papua New Guinea.

“First of all they usually say that travelling to Korea is just like flying with a time machine.

“Korea has a long history of about 5000 years.

There is a variety of things from the pre-historical Stone Age cultures to the modern day developments.

“Through these pictures you can enjoy a time machine to travel to Korea.

“We Koreans are very proud of our ancestor’s wisdom, that is why we keep nature and science together and they are all in the pictures ranging from food, environment, dances and buildings.

“This event is a momentum one for us to deepen and broaden and strengthen our friendship.

This kind of public diplomacy here at Vision City will help a lot and strengthening our relationship and keep the culture strong,” he said.

He added that they will be looking at holding another photo exhibition soon.
