Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has presented the Public Diplomacy Prize to Professor Moshe Arens, who served as defense minister and foreign minister in Israeli governments, Israel's ambassador to the United States and chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.

Reflecting on Israel's high international standing and recent developments on the diplomatic and military front, Netanyahu told the 92-year-old native of Kaunas, Lithuania, "Dear Misha, this is a moment of public and personal gratitude. I benefited from our mutual friendship, the many years of assistance, the wise advice, the rare wisdom that nothing can take away. You told me: 'Every day I look at the State of Israel with happiness, because the dream has come true.'"

The prime minister concluded, "On my behalf and on behalf of the citizens of Israel - Thank you Misha. Thank you for your contribution to realizing the dream and to many other good and satisfying years. Warm greetings on receiving the prize."
