Pakistani Community In France Urged To Work With Embassy To Improve Bilateral Trade And Investment

Pakistan ambassador to France Moin ul Haque met with a cross-section of Pakistani community and media representatives in Paris to give a comprehensive briefing on various developments of 2017 and the planned activities for 2018.

Ambassador informed them about the measures taken by the embassy for improving the quality and efficiency of Consular Services and Embassy's outreach initiatives, said a statement issued here. He said that bilateral trade between France and Pakistan is following an un-upward trajectory, noting with satisfaction that bilateral trade in the outgoing year of 2017 has registered significant increase with balance of trade in favor of Pakistan.

Ambassador said that investments from France were also increasing with more and more French companies are taking interest to invest in Pakistan and benefit from the Special Economic Zones which are being set up in Pakistan as part of CPEC Project.

Ambassador Moin also informed that as a part of its economic diplomacy initiative, Embassy in collaboration with Board of Investment, Pakistan and MEDEF France will organize a trade and investment seminar in Paris in the month of March.

Ambassador said that the Pakistani diaspora is an asset for the country and we greatly value their suggestions/recommendations to improve efficiency of the Embassy's services. The Ambassador especially thanked the Pakistan media persons based in France for their continued support in promoting the public diplomacy and economic diplomacy initiatives of the Embassy and assured that the Embassy will continue to extend its support to them in discharge of their professional assignments.
