    Summary

    The Bureau of International Information Programs (IIP) is responsible for providing the State Department’s worldwide outreach platform for public diplomacy and partnering with policy experts and missions abroad to design and execute outcome-oriented programs that engage foreign audiences to advance U.S. foreign policy.

    Responsibilities

    The incumbent will be responsible for conceptualizing content for digital and print materials that advance United States (U.S.) foreign policy objectives and national security interests. The incumbent will also refine and edit texts supplied by writer-editors, assure overall content quality, and, on occasion and on a fast-turnaround basis, write original content when needed. 
    • Supplies editorial guidance to project teams including writers, graphic designers, artists, video producers, and other content producers.
    • Writes and edits to assure media materials have maximum effectiveness with targeted foreign audiences.
    • Evaluates photo research in the Associated Press database and/or other sources, approving selections of appropriate and effective items for projects.
    • Identifies materials suitable for re-purposing through bureau print and digital channels.
