Intern at the Dutch Embassy in Oslo
The Netherlands Embassy in Oslo offers Dutch students, who have not yet finished their education, the opportunity to work as a full time (40 hours) intern at the embassy in the period from January to June 2019 (exact period to be agreed upon).
Internship description
As an intern, you will have the opportunity to get insight in the work of the embassy and you will actively contribute to results. You will be working with politics, Arctic, energy, trade, sustainable economy and communication. Tasks include answering questions directed to the embassy from stakeholders in Norway and in the Netherlands, drafting briefing notes, organizing events and dealing with trade requests. You will also attend seminars, meetings and other gatherings on which you write reports. You will also have the possibility to learn more about the work of the embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the field of consular, defense, trade and public diplomacy [JB emphasis]. The embassy has a small team that encourages you to take initiative especially in areas that are relevant for the embassy and your study objectives.
Qualifications
General requirements
- Enrolled student at a Dutch or foreign University/ HBO
- Dutch nationality
Professional competences
- Written and oral fluency in both Dutch and English. Knowledge of Norwegian or another Scandinavian language is a strong asset.
- Experience with Word, Excel, SharePoint and social media.

Conditions and compensation
