Description:
The OAS Art Museum of the Americas [JB - see] has promoted modern and contemporary art as instruments of public diplomacy among the countries of the Western Hemisphere during the Cold War and to the present day. During the 20th century, AMA exhibited emerging artists from Latin America and the Caribbean establishing a unique canon of modern and contemporary art. Today, AMA has launched a new collection catalog celebrating 100 of the finest artworks of its permanent collection currently on display. With more than 25 years of experience in the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States, Mr. Pablo Zúñiga has held numerous positions of leadership within the OAS. He coordinated and designed civic education programs, and supported the creation of the Inter-American Program on Education for Democratic Values and Practices, an alliance of ministries of education and other academic and social organizations to promote policies and methodologies for civic education. This event costs $25 and includes lunch.
