The Embassy in Sofia, Bulgaria is seeking a Public Diplomacy trainee by February 1, 2018 - July 31, 2018.
What can the embassy offer?
As a Public Diplomacy trainee at the Embassy in Sofia, you will gain a solid knowledge of the Public Diplomacy Area, as well as gain an in-depth insight into the work of a Danish Embassy. Bulgaria is experiencing a number of political, social and economic challenges and is constantly changing after entry into the EU and NATO. Bulgaria also takes over the EU Presidency. January 1, 2018, which you will also be employed as Public Diplomacy trainee. The work at the embassy is therefore taking place in an exciting and challenging environment and allows for a thorough knowledge of political life in Bulgaria and the EU institutions. Sofia is a capital of constant transformation with an interesting cultural life, while offering unique natural experiences in the surrounding mountains.
Trainee Tasks:
• Contribute to knowledge of Denmark as a pioneer country in a number of key areas, including climate and environment, design and architecture, as well as global responsibility and commitment.
• Help to raise awareness of Denmark by to arrange events, as well as attend meetings and conferences.
• Be part of the embassy's political activities by participating in political meetings, preparing reports for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and formulating less political analyzes.
• Be a part of everyday life in a small embassy by sometimes taking part in the Embassy's tasks across the work areas. Including in close collaboration with the trading practitioner.
• Assist with the update of the Embassy website, Facebook profile, and Twitter account.
Who can search?
• Before graduating, you should have passed your bachelor degree and be enrolled in a humanistic or social graduate degree program.
• You must be able to work purposefully and independently, but at the same time be part of a multicultural and dynamic environment.
• You must be outgoing, curious and open to a new culture.
• You must have a safe English, both verbally and in writing.
• You must be Danish citizen or be able to document long-term permanent ties with Denmark.
contractual
There is a contract for the internship. The internship is unpaid, but the embassy compensates DKK 2,500 per person. month as a supplement for diet, lodging and transportation. The Embassy does not provide housing, but current interns rent an apartment with a takeover agreement for future trainees. During the stay it is possible to receive SU according to applicable rules.

The application deadline for the internship is 18 September 2017 at. 12.00.
