The Council invited Foreign Service Officers who are specializing in public diplomacy to a round-table discussion about how public diplomacy fits in current State Department operations and about the career prospects for public diplomacy officers.  Lia Miller, an associate member and PD practitioner, organized the discussion, which was held at AFSA headquarters August 27.  Forty FSOs turned up to voice their views.
The resulting conversation offered a lot of insight into what is on the minds of those in the PD "cone" at State.  Foreign Service retirees might be surprised at the differences and similarities to their time in service.
Fortunately, everyone can review the conversation through a concise 11-minuted videoproduced by our Fellow, Tara Schoenborn.  We invite you to take a look on YouTube. Go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoOLxpgrVuM
