Public diplomacy scholars James Pamment (CPD Research Fellow, 2013-15) and Karin Wilkins have published a new article on the intersection of global development and rising soft power nations. Their piece, “Toward a Common Standard for Aid Transparency: Discourses of Global Citizenship Surrounding the BRICS,” appeared in volume 10 of the International Journal of Communication, a USC Annenberg publication. The article explores the impact of the BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) on the field of international development, and unpacks the fundamental shifts their emergence has had on both South-South cooperation and within organizations such as the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development).
