"Korea-Japan Public Diplomacy Symposium Held in Sapporo," http://en.kf.or.kr
The Korea Foundation, in conjunction with the Sejong Institute, organized the Korea-Japan Public Diplomacy Symposium for the future of Korea-Japan relations in Sapporo, Japan on July 15, 2016. The symposium was chaired by Visiting Research Fellow Osawa Boonko of the Sejong Institute and paper presentations were made by Professor Izumi Hajime of Tokyo International University and Professor Jung Jae-jung of Seoul National University. Panelists such as Tonohira Yosihiko, Co-President of the Hokkaido Forum for the Recognition of Forced Labor and Its Victims; Paik Hak-soon, Director of Inter-Korean Relations Studies Program at the Sejong Institute; Hakoda Tetsuya, Editorial Writer of The Asahi Shimbun; Oh Young-hwan, Director of the Tokyo Office of The JoongAng Ilbo; Cho Hyun-joon, President of Hyosung Group; Tomiyama Mutsuhiro, Chairperson of Sapporo Drug Store Co. Ltd.; Kwon Tae-hwan, Visiting Researcher of the Sejong Institute; Aoyama Shuji, Reporter of The Hokkaido Shimbun; Shimizu Toshiyuki, Professor of Sapporo Gakuin University; and Sawada Katsumi, Reporter of The Mainichi Shimbun partcipated in the symposium. Designed for scholars, journalists, students, and the general public in provincial cities across Japan, the symposium took place in Fukuoka, Osaka, and Sapporo this year. It is also scheduled to be held in Nagoya.
